TRAVELSOCIAL
Delete your account
TravelSocial is a travel app operated by Bloom Digital Labs LLC, 535 Ocean Street, Hyannis, MA 02601. You can delete your TravelSocial account at any time, in the app or by email. This page explains how, and what happens to your information.
Option 1: Delete in the app
- Open TravelSocial and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Confirm that it's you:
- Email and password: enter your password.
- Sign in with Google: you must have signed in within the last 10 minutes. If the app asks, sign out, sign in again and repeat.
- Sign in with Apple: confirm with Apple. This works on iPhone and iPad only; on Android, use an iPhone or iPad, or ask us by email (option 2).
Deletion starts as soon as you confirm. From that moment your account can no longer post or change anything, and we finish deleting automatically, even if you close the app.
Option 2: Ask us by email
Email support@bloomdigitallabs.com with the subject “Delete my TravelSocial account”. Send it from the email address on your TravelSocial account if you can. If you can't, for example because you used Apple's Hide My Email, send it from any address and include your TravelSocial username. We will confirm your identity before deleting anything, usually by writing to the email address on your account, and then delete your account and your information as described below. You don't need the app to do this.
Email a deletion request
What we delete
We delete your account and the records linked to it from our live systems, including your profile, photos and other uploaded files, posts, comments, likes, follows, blocks, saved places, AI conversations, notification settings, push registrations, usage records and any waitlist entry with your account's email address.
Trips: trips you own that have no collaborators are deleted. A trip you own that other travelers have joined passes to its longest-standing collaborator, so they keep access; your photos and cover image are removed from it, and it becomes private.
If you used Sign in with Apple, we also revoke TravelSocial's access to your Apple ID. If you used Sign in with Google, you can remove TravelSocial from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
What we keep, and for how long
- Deletion record: a record that the account was deleted (its internal ID, sign-in method types and when each deletion step finished). It contains no name, email address or content, and we keep it for as long as we need it to show that the request was completed and to prevent abuse.
- Your contributions to shared content: flights or experiences you added to someone else's trip stay in that trip until the trip's owner or collaborators remove them or the trip is deleted; places you added to the shared place directory stay in the directory; and reports you submitted stay in our moderation history. Their link to your account is removed, but anything you wrote in them, such as the details of a report, is kept as written.
- Other people's replies: your comments are deleted, but replies other people wrote to them stay as their own comments.
- Backups: our database provider keeps daily encrypted backups for about 7 days, so deleted information can remain in a backup for up to about 7 days. Encrypted backups taken before planned maintenance are kept for 30 days and then deleted, unless we need them longer for a security investigation or a legal obligation.
- Moderation records: decisions moderators made about content or accounts are kept in an audit log, identified only by the account's internal ID, for as long as needed to handle appeals, prevent repeated abuse and meet legal obligations.
- Support and legal needs: we may keep correspondence, and information we need to comply with the law, resolve disputes or enforce our terms, for as long as reasonably necessary.
- Providers' own records: some providers keep records for a period under their own policies, for example our authentication provider's sign-in event log (which may include your email address), email delivery logs and server logs.
Delete some data without deleting your account
